2017 - A Year of New Beginnings

Numerolgy is a very ancient method of divination.  Seers and other mystics, back in the day, relied on the relationship between the numerical value of names and birth dates to determine how the vibration of the numbers affected the person or event.  For example, some authors will select a pseudonym with the best vibration from the numerical value of the letters to assure success. Also, those who have a 7 life path number appear to gravitate around all things mystical and spiritual while 1s are natural-born leaders. Although you cannot change the numbers of your birth date, you certainly can use a different version of your name, or change it altogether. This will hold true for the name of your business as well. As I have been saying all year, 2016 is a 9 year - a year of endings. Some of you may have left a job, left a marriage, or given up brussel sprouts forever. Whatever door closed, a new one will open - because the Universe abhors a vacuum. I have had my share of endings this year and as difficult as they were in the moment, now from a distance, they were so important for my personal and spiritual progress.  Consequently, 2017 is a "ONE" year representing new beginnings.  Whichever door closed for you in 2016, another door will  appear for you to discover new opportunities and new possibilities that potentially can last until the next 9 year rolls around - 2025 and the cycle begins again.  With this in mind, to augur the new ONE year,  I am starting a "2017 Awesome Jar". I commit to adding to this jar every awe-inspiring and yummy event - in real time, that will happen to me in 2017. And I know there will be many.  How do I know? With my mind set in the groove of gratitude for all that I have and all that is coming, living joyfully and authentically each and every day, there is no other possible result. I commit to acknowledging every moment, event, person, and encounter that has somehow affected my life for the better.

I choose to be pro-active in the unfolding and unveiling of my soul! Will you join in?

Now, it's time for some arts and crafts!

What you will need:

1) A mason jar or a clear cookie jar...anything with a lid will be perfect. Otherwise, a clear vase with a lid you can create from other materials will work just as well. It must be clear, however so that you can see the colorful progress.

2) If you want to add some whimsy, use stickers or paints to make the jar or vase your own. Add ribbons or tags with reminders of why you are doing this. Remember to stay committed!

3) Purchase some colorful sheets of paper (2 inch squared) or post-it like notes without the adhesive.  Again, cheerfulness brings joyfulness so be magical with your creativity.

4) Every time something you are grateful for, or excited about comes up, write it on one of these sheets.  Keep it simple, short and date it.  Drop it into your magic jar.

5) Put the jar or vase in a location where you will see it every single day.

6) Anytime you are feeling less than grateful about your life, pick one note out of the jar and read it out loud. Remind yourself of what is possible.  I guarantee you that your emotions and thought pattern will shift, and you will be back on track.

7) At the end of the year, review all of the joyful and exciting and gratifying moments that have happened to you in 2017. Turn it into a little ceremony perhaps with some tea or wine. Invite your friends who have joined you in this project and support each other's journey while keeping everyone on track. Commit to doing this every year.

8) Get your family and friends on board. Creating a dedicated group with regular meet-ups might be a fun way to stay on course. Your little group could turn into a community of magic makers!

Recognize that there is joyfulness all around us but it is often missed when the focus is on the chaos instead. Even in the chaos, we can look for that proverbial silver lining, It's there. Look a little closer. Life is filled with checks and balances, and it is up to each one of us to examine them both collectively and surmise that it's been a great year after all.  Whatever lessons we needed to learn that year, were in the end, for our own good and evolution. Wayne Dyer said "when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change"  This applies here and everywhere else in life. If we see all that happens to us as lessons, then we are that much further ahead. And before we bid the lessons farewell, learn from them, and lift yourself up to that next rung on the ladder of life! Enjoy the view as you rise!

Whatever you do with these notes is up to you.  You can save them in a dedicated keepsake box as a constant reminder that you are equally grateful for the little as well as the big things that happen in your life. You can arrange them on a vision board to stay in the vortex of gratitude or use them to write an inspirational e-book so the world can enjoy the possibilities of life's little magical moments too. I, for one, love the idea of sharing it in a coffee table book format.  Publishers, here I come!!
